ASTEC
Recycling work horses

Astec RAP systems are offered in a range of configurations, with a variety of conveyors, screens, grizzlies, lump-breakers, and crushers. The simplest system consists of one bin, scalping screen, and conveyor. Options include bulkheads, and either a screen or grizzly to separate lumps and oversized material.

Recycle bins are designed for free flow of RAP even with fine RAP in hot weather. At 8 feet, the tops of bins are 2 feet narrower than regular cold-feed bins, resulting in very steep side walls to aid free flow. One end-wall is vertical and the other is angled at 75 degrees. Air cannons are standard and keep RAP from compressing in the bin.

The bin discharge opening is tapered to make it self-relieving. It is wider than that of cold-feed bins and uses a wider belt feeder.

You can increase production capacity by running the same grade of RAP through two bins. A swing-hammer crusher or fixed-bar impactor, commonly referred to as a hammer mill, can be used for breaking rock and hard pieces of RAP.

Unique bin design

The Gencor Giraffe RAP unit combines a bin and feeder, lump breaker, vibrating screen, and scale conveyor into a single, easily transportable unit.  The unique bin design eliminates material bridging, with steep-sided tapered walls, self-relieving throat, and welded beater plates on the sides of the bins. The Ace Group
Stationary or portable plants

The Ace Group’s RAPwrangle RAP crusher is suitable for stationary, portable, drum, or batch plants. Several configurations are offered with a choice of 30- or 50-horsepower motor. The crusher is equipped with a 20-inch rotor that spins at 127 rpm and with 312 replaceable tungsten-tipped milling teeth that shred football-sized chunks down to 1 inch at a rate of 250 tons per hour.

Rugged, reliable service

Recycle systems from the ZelCor Group of Napoleon, Ohio are built for years of rugged, reliable service. The systems are designed and manufactured with a large-capacity 10- by 15-foot recycle bin, sturdy I-beam legs, 60 degree sloped side and back walls, 5-foot-tall extensions on three sides, hinged grizzlies with 12-inch openings, 4-inch cannon with solenoid control, splash shield on charged side, 42-inch feeder/conveyor rated at 150 tons per hour, extended horizontal feeder, 0.25-inch top vulcanized belt with belt cleaner, 5-inch-diameter CEMA-C flat rollers, and 10-horsepower Eddy current drive system.

ADM of Huntertown, Indiana offers a complete recycle system for HMA producers. Features include reinforced all-welded 12-ton capacity bin with steep sloped sidewalls, 30- or 36-inch belt feeder with adjustable self-cleaning tail pulley and skirt boards with high-efficiency drive system.  The heavy-duty weigh conveyor is equipped with channel frame construction. Optional features include high-production lump breaker with replaceable tungsten-tipped teeth and dual deck vibrating screening system. Recycle systems are available in both portable and stationary systems.

The Meeker Equipment recycle system is uniquely designed to attain the greatest benefit from a common cost-saving resource — recycle. The system is equipped with a welded large-capacity bin mounted on a sturdy I-beam frame with 60-degree sloped sidewalls to prevent problematic plugging and bridging common to some inferior systems. The top of the bin is fitted with a retractable grizzly to scalp oversized and unwanted material. In-line recycle systems

Reliable Asphalt Products of Shelbyville, Kentucky offers a complete line of in-line recycle systems for the asphalt industry designed to enhance asphalt production. The recycle system is offered in portable or stationary arrangements complete with all the necessary components to provide recycle capability to any type of plant. A rugged system by design, it includes a large capacity recycle bin with grizzly and trophing feeder conveyor. The lump breaker features 250-ton-per-hour capabilities; counter-rotating floating rotors; and replaceable hardened-steel teeth with chrome carbide tips. AESCO/MADSEN
Hammermill-style crusher

AESCO/MADSEN’s Rap-Tor Rap Crusher is a hammermill-style crusher which will take RAP up to 8 inches in size and crush it down to 0.75-inch-minus material in a single pass; saving time, money, and wear and tear on the equipment.
