Astec
RAP systems are offered in a range of configurations, with a variety of
conveyors, screens, grizzlies, lump-breakers, and crushers. The simplest
system consists of one bin, scalping screen, and conveyor. Options include
bulkheads, and either a screen or grizzly to separate lumps and oversized
material.
Recycle bins are designed for free flow of RAP even
with fine RAP in hot weather. At 8 feet, the tops of bins are 2 feet
narrower than regular cold-feed bins, resulting in very steep side walls to
aid free flow. One end-wall is vertical and the other is angled at 75
degrees. Air cannons are standard and keep RAP from compressing in the bin.
The bin discharge opening is tapered to make it
self-relieving. It is wider than that of cold-feed bins and uses a wider
belt feeder.
You can increase production capacity by running the
same grade of RAP through two bins. A swing-hammer crusher or fixed-bar
impactor, commonly referred to as a hammer mill, can be used for breaking
rock and hard pieces of RAP.

The
Gencor Giraffe RAP unit combines a bin and feeder, lump breaker, vibrating
screen, and scale conveyor into a single, easily transportable unit. The
unique bin design eliminates material bridging, with steep-sided tapered
walls, self-relieving throat, and welded beater plates on the sides of the
bins. The rack and pinion adjustments allow the bin gates to be easily
raised or lowered to maintain the correct amount of RAP being fed for

and reversible bulkhead can accommodate any plant arrangement and provides

The
Ace Group’s RAPwrangle RAP crusher is suitable for stationary, portable,
drum, or batch plants. Several configurations are offered with a choice of
30- or 50-horsepower motor. The crusher is equipped with a 20-inch rotor
that spins at 127 rpm and with 312 replaceable tungsten-tipped milling teeth
that shred football-sized chunks down to 1 inch at a rate of 250 tons per
hour.

The

with a welded large-capacity bin mounted on a sturdy I-beam frame with
60-degree sloped sidewalls to prevent problematic plugging and bridging

designed to enhance asphalt production. The recycle system is offered in

8 inches in size and crush it down to 0.75-inch-minus material in a single
