Pavement marking equipment
A new pavement marking application unit from TMT-Pathway
sprays thermoplastic material for stencil markings.
The TMT-1004TS quickly
sprays the durable marking material to road legend markings, such as turn
arrows, railroad crossings, stop bars, and other in-road warnings. The unit
features a 14-foot hydraulic extension spray arm that allows easy movement
for legend applications and reduces operator fatigue.

Ground-penetrating radar system
RoadMap is a new ground penetrating radar system
from Sensors & Software designed for asphalt and pavement imaging.
Straightforward and easy to use, the system is non-evasive and enables users
to evaluate existing facilities such as roads, bridges, and runways without
any interruption to services.
The system includes:
Road network management — measuring asphalt and
granular thickness, zoning, and conditioning classifications.
Forensics and engineering design — locating
hidden and undocumented repairs, detecting and characterizing subsurface
slab joints.
Construction quality assurance — measuring
asphalt and granular thickness, detecting areas of distress.
Data are reviewed in real time and stored to a large
capacity removable flash memory for post-survey processing.

Diamond blades
The newly upgraded HSC combination diamond blades
from Multiquip are available in 12- to 20-inch diameters and cut concrete,
asphalt, and much more. They can be used on high-speed cut-off saws,
low-horsepower walk-behind saws, and stationary masonry saws. The new blades
feature an increased core thickness, additional cooling holes, and a new
gullet configuration, making them less susceptible to damage from operator
error. Blade life increased as much as 32%.

Vacuum litter collector
The
Johnston Madvac 2-micron dust filtration system
virtually eliminates dust during vacuum litter collection. The two-stage
dust filtration system prevents litter from passing through the fan to
prevent clogging and damage, resulting in less downtime and repairs.
The
vacuum compacts heavy-duty litter such as cans, bottles, newspaper, plastic,
and more from construction sites, streets, highways, and parking garages. It
collects approximately 100 to 120 gallons of litter with a hose length of up
to 40 feet.

High-performance adhesion additive
Unique Paving Materials Corporation now offers HPM
Hot Mix Pavement Modifier, a high-performance adhesion additive. HPM is
specially formulated to increase the effectiveness and long-term performance
of asphalt pavements by improving adhesion and increasing the tensile
strength ration of the mix, eliminating many common stripping problems. It
is designed to extend the life of the pavement more cost effectively than
other moisture-reducing material and has been proven stable even at elevated
temperatures. The hot-mix liquid is evenly distributed throughout the
asphalt mix in a relatively small amount.

Water jet lance
The new NLB water jet lance lets operators work at
all pressures between 10,000 and 24,000 psi. The NCG24-286 lance handles
flows as high as 35 gallons per minute and features a quick-change cartridge
valve that practically eliminates downtime since it can be replaced in the
field in less than 60 seconds. A patented trigger, which can be operated
with just 8 to 10 pounds of pressure, lets the operator dump pressure.
