Hydraulic hammer

The H55Ds hydraulic hammer from Caterpillar features a simplified design that reduces the number of parts for increased reliability and easy service; a high blow rate; and 25% more power than its predecessor. The hammer is sized for use with all Cat skid-steer and multi-terrain loaders as well as the 302.5, 303.5, and 303 CR mini-hydraulic excavators, and is compatible with the pin grabber and quick-coupler system.

Roadside clearing

Fecon’s new stump-grinding attachment for large excavators, the SRD700, turns a 20-ton excavator into a severe-duty stump grinder with tremendous reach and mobility for clearing roadsides.

The attachment installs easily and weighs approximately 8,500 pounds. The mainframe is 39.5-inches wide and 73-inches high.

Compact solar school zone flasher

Carmanah’s new ultra-compact R829C Flashing School Zone Beacon automatically adjusts to prevailing solar conditions in order to operate reliably in all climates. The flasher installs in minutes onto any existing signpost with no trenching, cabling, or disruption of traffic; operates without requiring external control cabinets or power; requires no scheduled maintenance or servicing for five years; uses IT compliant LED modules; and is MUTCD compliant.

Traffic/light pole base

A new base for traffic and light poles from Valmont Structures is resistant to cracking, salt spray, chemical decay, rotting, and pitting.

The Xtreme Series is made of high-strength polyurethane commonly used in bowling balls, skateboard wheels, and durable liners for rock crushers. It will not rust and is virtually maintenance free, according to the company. Two standard models are available with a clamshell design and are scalable to match any size poles.

Track carrier

Fecon’s new FTX130-FM track carrier offers almost 50% more horsepower than other mulchers, according to the company. When equipped with the BH85FM mulching attachment, the unit weighs 15,100 pounds and can travel at speeds up to 4.5 miles per hour.

Surface Systems, a member of Quixote Transportation, and Baron Services teamed up to offer a new high-resolution weather graphics product that provides agencies with accurate, timely information for storm tracking and detailed weather graphics. Storm Beacon includes high-resolution radar images with street-level detail, storm tracking capabilities, future radar, tropical weather data, and much more.

Breathable reflective material

Safe Reflections received a patent for its Airex Breathable Reflective Trim. The trim is designed to replace traditional solid reflective strips on safety garments, making them lightweight and flexible, and allowing for more airflow. Airex meets all ANSI 107-2004 compliance requirements and maintains its reflective brightness after 50 washes, increasing useful safety-garment life. Available in a stock pattern, the material can also be customized to incorporate images, words, logos, and graphics.

Easy Sample Loading

Gilson’s redesigned Test-Master Testing Screens feature integrated, moveable material hoppers for easier sample introduction. The vertically hinged panel doors are safety interlocked and offer improved access. The 1.6-cubic foot hopper is hinged at the rear and allows the sample to be introduced incrementally as the machine is running. When the hopper is closed, a panel blocks dust from escaping.

Quest Technologies’ new SoundPro SE/DL Hand Held Sound Level Meter & Real-Time Frequency Analyzer Series not only confirms noise exists, but helps users resolve the problems found. The meter, in combination with QuestSuite Professional II Applications Software is designed to simplify the efforts required to perform advanced noise analyses. Features include two virtual sound level meters for simultaneous measurements; simple setup; and 1/1 and/or 1/3 octave real-time frequency analysis allowing a choice between RTA and broadband measurement models.

Lo-riser trailer

Advance Metalworking’s new two-wheel, 6,000-pound-capacity lo-riser inclining platform trailer features a 74-inch by 11-foot, 4-inch load carrying platform that can be lowered to ground level hydraulically. The built-in ramp then allows smooth, drive-on access. The trailer is constructed of High Strength Low Alloy steel and provides approximately a 3:1 payload to trailer weight ratio.
