Pedestrian barricade system

Remcon Plastics designed the new Addgards Pedestrian Barricade System which is virtually impossible for pedestrian or vehicular traffic to disrupt. The system is made up of lightweight panels that weigh 11 pounds each. The panels snap together without the use of tools and several panels can be formed into a complete enclosure. For easy transport, the panels can be folded together, even while they are still linked together.

The system uses the new Tiger Lens technology, allowing for a variety of signage configurations to be changed quickly and easily. The barricade system meets the new MUTCD requirements for the Americans with Disabilities Act by providing a continuous tapping rail for blind pedestrians to navigate around hazards.

Non-hazardous, biodegradable solvent

An asphalt cleaning solvent from Chemical Solutions, a subsidiary of Troxler Electronic Laboratories, represents a new approach to non-hazardous, biodegradable solvents. BindOff is a chemically engineered synthetic compound that is effective, and free of any volatile organic compound. It is an organic ester-based formulation derived from chemicals that are as environmentally benign as vegetable oil-based solvents, but more effective than diesel fuel. The solvent dissolves all three classes of bitumen chemicals that are found in asphalt.

Full-body harness suspension relief

The Relief Step Safety Device from Miller Fall Protection is designed to help a worker suspended in a full-body harness avoid the effects of suspension trauma. The device is easy to use and can be attached to any full-body harness. A clearly marked tab deploys the device allowing the worker to insert one foot into the web loop-step, enabling them to alternate between standing and hanging while awaiting rescue. This movement flexes the leg muscles, stimulating blood flow. The use of two devices is recommended for added support, balance, and comfort.
