Extreme-duty snow plows
A new line of
extreme-duty, high-performance snow plows for four-wheel-drive pickups uses
a split trip edge with a 9-inch-high pivot point to provide protection from
higher obstacles such as curbs and parking barriers. A high density
polyethylene moldboard, supported by a strong horizontally trussed frame, is
used to reduce friction and provide a corrosion-free plowing surface. Ten
laser-cut ribs give vertical strength to the 30-inch-tall moldboard
assembly.
Two versions are available — a conventional power-angling design and a
patented C-plow configuration. The C-plow design uses a hydraulically
actuated fold mechanism to fold the upper two-thirds of the moldboard over
180 degrees, creating a rear-facing backdrag plow. The top of the moldboard
then becomes the ground contact point, with a second top-mounted cutting
edge providing a rearward scraping action for greater snow-carrying capacity
and improved surface cleaning.
Power is provided by a plow-mounted electric/hydraulic system. A compact
handheld joystick controller provides convenient control of all plow
functions.

System One Modular Truck Equipment
Work winch tie-down system
System One
has introduced its new Work Winch tie-down system. A new series of aluminum
racks for pickups, vans, service bodies, and enclosed bodies, called the
I.T.S. (integrated tie-down system) series, allows the Work Winch to be
plugged in to the ladder rack. The new I.T.S. series racks have the frame of
the winch built right into the rack itself. The aluminum alloy winches are
inserted with their PVC bearings into the bore in the gusset of the rack and
are ready to work. Just lift the pawl and pull out as much strap as you
need, throw the hook end of the strap over the load, and hook it to the
underside of the crossmember. Then, take up the slack with the handwheel and
tighten with the handle. All winch components are aluminum and stainless
steel, making it rust free.

Fisher
Engineering
Extreme duty X-blade snow plows
Fisher’s new 8- and 9-foot Xblade snow plows combine an X-bracing
design with corrosion-resistant, stainless steel to produce a tough plow.
The exclusive X-bracing on the back of the blade provides superior torsional
strength and rigidity to eliminate moldboard stress. The 12-gauge polished
304 stainless-steel moldboard and powder-coated steel structure form a
rust-free plow blade.
In addition to a 31-inch blade height for handling deep snow, the blade
curl and 10-inch moldboard overhang promote optimum snow rolling and foiling
action. Other features include a 75 degree attack angle for better ice
breaking and scraping, as well as a higher vertical spring attachment
location for increased ground clearance and wear resistance.

H. Barber
& Sons, Inc.
Truck-towed litter collector
The Barber
Road Rake Model 200 is a truck-towed litter collector for use on roads and
paved surfaces. It safely removes tire retreads, mufflers, hubcaps,
cardboard, wood, paper, and other litter from the road surface without the
operator leaving the safety of the towing vehicle. The rake can also travel
over the road surface at speeds up to 55 miles per hour — up to 18 miles
per hour during cleaning — covers more area faster, captures large and
small debris, eliminates down time, and won’t expose workers to dangerous
traffic. The unit is 8-feet, 5-inches high; 8-feet, 4-inches wide; 15-feet,
8-inches long; and weighs 6,460 pounds. It cleans an area 9-feet, 10-inches
to 11-feet, 5-inches wide; has a dumping height of 8 feet, 7 inches; and a
hopper capacity of 4 cubic yards.

H&H Equipment Company
Utility van service bodies
H&H
Equipment is now offering three models of the new Knapheide KUV Series
Service Bodies — SRW E350, DRW E350, and DRW E450 — for Ford’s popular
E-Series utility vans, and they come installed on the van chassis as a unit.
The bodies are designed and built to meet the most rugged and demanding
conditions. More interior space, plus easy-to-get-to outside storage
compartments, allow you to spend less time looking for equipment and
supplies, and more time working.
The body shell is constructed from rugged 14-gauge two-sided A-40
galvanized steel. The exclusive return flange floor design provides support
for side compartments and adds floor strength, while reinforced doors add
durability and long life. Other features include rotary door locks,
stainless-steel (pry-proof) door hinges, Master locking system, rear-access
conduit chutes on both sides, and flat advertising panels. Standard
equipment includes 250-pound capacity adjustable shelving, in both interior
and exterior compartments, solid sliding cab access door with glass window,
two rear-access doors with windows and screened window guards, and two
interior dome lights switched at the rear.

Wylie
Manufacturing Co.
Deicing trailers and skids
Wylie
Manufacturing has introduced a line of deicing trailers and skids that are
sized for treating areas such as intersections, bridges, parking lots,
sidewalks, and service roads.
The skid sprayer slides easily in a standard pickup bed, while the spray
bar mounts to a receiver hitch. The trailer is DOT approved with lights,
fenders, ball hitch, and brakes on the 300 and 500 gallon units. The
sprayers can be used to apply fertilizer and pesticide during spring and
summer, providing year-round versatility.
Both the trailers and skids are equipped with tanks ranging from 100 to
500 gallons, a centrifugal pump, hose reel, and electric or automatic
controls. The 7.5-foot spray bar will cover an 11-foot swath; the handgun
can be used for sidewalks.
An optional 7-foot walking boom is available for easily treating
sidewalks.

Multi-position v-plow
The Western
MVP multi-position v-plow is now available with the UltraMount System that
incorporates a unique rotating pivot bar for accurate drive-in alignment and
a cleaner scrape. The 8.5- and 9.5-foot multi-position v-plows allow you to
do more jobs in less time. Each wing of the blade incorporates a trip-edge
so that only the lower edge trips back when the blade strikes an obstacle.
The new, stronger T-frame design includes bolts to adjust blade pitch to
improve edge wear. The operation of all functions — raise, lower, and
moving the wings in or out simultaneously or separately — is handled with
the CabCommand Control. Double acting cylinders for efficient back dragging
and snow deflector are standard.

Iowa Mold Tooling Co.
Crane body
Iowa Mold Tooling’s DSC20 Crane Body is rated for up to a 20,000
foot-pound crane, for small to mid-size equipment maintenance applications.
The crane body enhances the company’s line of service vehicles with a
light, mid-size body that has the ability to employ the popular and
versatile IMT 2020 telescopic crane.
Features include an innovative door/hinge system that eliminates
potential rust problems and prevents tampering; a rear bumper integrated
into the crane body, including an outrigger, for strength, with a rigid, not
flexible, frame; and a new floor structure and side packs specifically
designed for the crane body. Special attention was paid to the crane
compartment and weld joints — strengthened to provide extra load-bearing
ability for a smaller body.

Reading Body Works
Protection package
Reading Body Works is offering a brand new options package for their
bodies. The POLAR Protection Package offers their newest protection features
— POwder coating, LAtch-matic, and Rhino linings — as one combo buy.
Powder coating is a smooth and durable finish that provides high levels
of corrosion protection to salt, chemicals, humidity, scratching, and
impact.
The Latch-Matic system allows the user to simultaneously lock all of the
service body compartments by use of a single key-chain type transmitter. It
also permits interconnection of the cab wireless entry system (if so
equipped) with the service body electronic locking system, allowing the user
to lock the truck cab and body with one push button.
Rhino Linings Tuff Stuff, a spray-on polyurethane lining on powder coated
truck bodies, forms a permanent bond with the surface of the truck bed. This
lining prohibits rust, corrosion, and surface abrasion from damaging the
truck and reducing its value and performance.
The combination creates a formidable shield of protection and gives the
customer a quicker turnaround.
