Push or pull grader

The Seven Blade Road Drag from Paul Wever Construction Equipment can be pushed in front of a truck or tractor, or it can be pulled like a conventional road drag. It can be hydraulically controlled from inside the cab. It can pitch from side to side, and from front to aft, and it can have pressure applied to the front hitch. This allows the unit to be used in ditches, something conventional drags cannot do, according to Wever.

Simpler cleanup added

NLB’s Starjet automated stripe removal system now has an optional vacuum recovery system to simplify cleanup. Mobile filtering system

John Deere says its new Super Caddy is the most advanced fluid filtering caddy on the market. It features a B7 1000 filter with a patented new design that holds more dirt and is easier to change than other designs. The unit also features separate filters for each fluid type on a machine to avoid mixing lubricants.

Easy-to-move dozer

Komatsu says its new 40-horsepower D21-8 dozer weighs just 8,680 pounds (9,530 pounds in low-ground-pressure trim) and can be transported on the same trailer used for skid steers while still remaining below the weight limits that require a driver with a CDL.

The Hydroshift machine is designed primarily for slope work and fine-grading applications.

Reinventing loader linkage

John Deere is rolling out a new loader linkage design for its utility size loaders that combines the virtues of parallel lift with powerful digging performance and improved visibility. The company’s patented new Powerllel linkage option uses a revolutionary linkage geometry to increase boom power at all positions and provide more effective breakout forces in stockpile loading. A floating bell crank allows the forces at the attachment to be transmitted to the loader frame without reduction of boom lift.

“The result of enhanced boom power is higher breakout forces from ground level to full height, enabling the loader to work more efficiently in both bucket and fork applications,” said John Deere’s David O’Keefe, product marketing manager.

Aluminum rear-dump trailer

Titan Trailers has introduced a new all-aluminum rear dump trailer with load capacities up to 78 cubic yards that is compliant with new load limit codes in Ontario and Quebec. The custom-built trailers feature Titan’s proprietary extruded aluminum sidewall panels, and an aluminum floor. The 45-foot trailer has 98.5 inches of interior width and has ample strength for heavy materials, according to the company. Smooth inside walls enhance speedy unloading and cleanup.

Powerful compact sweeper

Elgin made its new Crosswind Fury sweeper by combining the technology of regenerative air with a compact truck body. The company says the new model delivers the same efficient cleaning system as its larger models, but in a package to meet the needs of municipalities with smaller sweeping applications.

Built on an Isuzu cab-over chassis, the Fury’s sweeping system is powered by an auxiliary 60-horsepower diesel engine and includes hydraulically driven, dual 36-inch trailing-arm side brooms. In addition to its regenerative air system, the unit features a 72-inch container height, rear dumping, a 4.4-cubic-yard hopper, and a 105-gallon water tank for dust suppression.
