Catch-basin cleaner

In addition to its line of street sweepers, the Leach Company also has the Vac/All LV16-C catch-basin cleaning model that can perform a variety of tasks with a single operator. A high-performance, 16,500-cfm blower creates a powerful vacuum that can pull muck, debris, rocks, bottles, and large volumes of water from packed-solid catch basins through a large vacuum tube. A hydraulically powered rear boom offers 1,000 lbs. of lift capacity, and an optional front-mounted boom provides increased versatility for cleaning difficult-to-reach locations, work-site waste, water-filled excavations, or roadside spills.

All Vac/All street sweepers are now certified to conform with Rule 1186 requirements.

Dry-dust control system

With regulations mandating cleaner air, the Tennant Model 830-II Power Sweeper fills the bill with a patented dry-dust control system that easily removes PM10 (particulate matter smaller than 10 microns). It also meets Rule 1186 of the South Coast Air Quality Management District in California. In fact, the unit features a design that traps particles as small as three microns.

The 830-II also picks up sand, dirt, rocks, broken glass, and bulky, light waste. It features a self-adjusting, centrally suspended main brush that efficiently collects debris. Simultaneously, twin, high-volume vacuum fans pull dust into a high-capacity, long-lasting filter to remove particles and exhaust clean air. The machine reduces non-productive travel time to dump sites with its 9.5-ft. high-dump that allows operators to discharge into large roll-offs and dump trucks. The 830-II can also be used all year because it operates without water.

CNG sweepers

The Elgin Sweeper Company has found an environmentally sound solution for reducing air contaminants. The new Crosswind CNG and Eagle CNG are compressed natural gas sweepers that combine clean-burning alternative fuel engines with the company’s quality name. A new level of technology has been applied to both the established Eagle CNG and newly developed Crosswind CNG. The natural gas propulsion engines of the products are capable of meeting the ULEV standards and produce only 10% of pollutants normally emitted by gasoline or diesel engines.

The Eagle CNG features a 10-ft. maximum variable height side-dump hopper with 4.5-cu.yd. volumetric capacity, 10-ft.-wide sweeping path, and 2.4-liter CNG sweeper engine. Features of the Crosswind CNG are a rear-dump hopper with 8-cu.yd. volumetric capacity, 12-ft.-wide sweeping path, and 4.2-liter CNG engine. Both vehicles have a 5.9 CNG chassis engine and an optional Rule 1186 PM-10 compliance package.

Sweeper line

The Waldon/Lay-Mor sweeper line consists of three major categories. The larger Waldon SweepMaster 250 runs on a 76-hp Cummins 4B3.9 diesel engine with a sweeping surface of 7.5 ft. It’s sold and serviced only through contracted distributors.

The Lay-Mor 6HC/8HC three wheel sweeper has an easy hook-up towing system that requires no jack. Available in 6- or 8-ft. broom heads, the machine is self-propelled and features a 37-hp Kubota diesel engine. And the company’s Model 3C sweeper is a walk-behind with direct drive hydraulic broom, multi-directional sweep, and handlebar broom angle adjustment. Lay-Mor sweepers are designed and sold primarily to the equipment rental industry.
